So if you have guests in from out of town, particularly those who have never been to Utah, and you want to show off — take ‘em up Little Cottonwood Canyon to the Aerie Restaurant.

That’s what I did last night as I hosted Dennis and Jeff from Miami, Florida on their first trip to Utah, and the word that I heard over and over during the evening was “spectacular!”

Found on the 10th floor at the top of the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort, the Aerie is one of the top restaurants in Utah, and not just because it’s situated at more than 7,700 feet elevation.

Voted Utah’s Most Romantic Restaurant and recipient of an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator Magazine, the Aerie has a very attentive wait staff, a fun nouveau cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Fernando Soberanis (the Beef was excellent), and a fantastic view of the mountains and the canyon through the 15-foot-high floor to ceiling windows. Yes, even in the bathrooms.

It had been some time since I was last up at “the ‘Bird,” but it was definitely worth the 20-minute trip up the canyon.

The Aerie is definitely the tops. I give it a 5 out of 5.

Aerie’s Restaurant is the place to go to when in Snowbird. I’ve been to Snowbird twice, and ate there once on each trip. I’ll make sure to go there again next time I Ski Snowbird.
